Kent Nagano and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal release L’Aiglon recording

Kent Nagano and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) renew their cooperation with Decca with the premiere recording of Arthur Honegger’s and Jacques Ibert’s opera L’Aiglon. L’Aiglon is a seldomly performed French opera (world premiere: 1937), which celebrated its North America premiere in Montréal in March 2015.

The CD recording of this performance will be released on 4 March 2016 by Decca.

The 2-CD-Box is the first of many more planned CD productions by the OSM and Decca and the first mutual project within this renewed cooperation, which initially began in 1980. Orchestra Recordings of OSM and Decca won around 40 national and international prices, i.e. the Grammy Award twice.

The second project of this new partnership was recorded by Decca on 29 and 30 October 2015, a concert with works by Ives, Dukas, Mussorgsky and Dvorak in the tradition of Halloween. The release of the CD will happen later in 2016.
